From September 23 to 26, 2019, the 44th International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) was grandly held in Tokyo, Japan. Kaibang Motor's "Iron Shell Dream Chasers" QC Circle clinched the convention's highest honor—the Gold Award. On this international stage, the team once again demonstrated its strength and fulfilled the corporate mission of "Providing Reliable Driving Force for the World."
Often hailed as the "Olympics of the Quality World," the ICQCC is one of the largest, most extensive, and most influential international quality conferences in the field. Since its inception in 1976, the convention has been held 44 times. Under the theme "Creating a Better Future through TQM and QC Circle Activities," this year's event brought together over 350 participating teams and more than 2,000 quality experts, government representatives, and QC members from around the globe.
Focusing on the project Reducing the Defect Rate of FW35X Iron Shell Motor Stator Performance, Kaibang Motor tackled the critical issue of wire breakage. By applying QC theories and methods, and relying on data and facts, the team conducted continuous investigations and analyses on the production floor. They successfully reduced the defect rate of the FW35X stator below the target level, which not only improved product quality but also saved on rework labor costs.
During the presentation, the team members remained calm and composed. With outstanding results, fluent expression, excellent public speaking, and well-organized responses during the Q&A, they earned the recognition of the judges and rounds of applause from fellow participants. After a comprehensive evaluation covering the all-English project presentation, audience Q&A, and judges' questioning, Kaibang Motor's "Iron Shell Dream Chasers" QC Circle was ultimately awarded the convention's highest honor—the ICQCC Gold Award!
